A new one for the group show at Reiser gallery in Carmel. 20×24. I think this is the iconic “lone cypress” that has probably been painted so many times it’s become a joke but I wanted to get in my 2 cents on it. I blocked the whole thing in a while ago and let it sit for a while before i went back into it. I glazed the whole thing with a yellow gold to harmonize it and repainted it from top to bottom. I think it turned out okay. I paid extra attention to the shapes in trees to make sure they didn’t repeat exactly anywhere.
We have our spring opening tonight at McRae Studios (winter park) where I’ll have it up before it ships. Haven’t really had time to organize or clean the space so i think I’m going to just leave it as is… let it be more of an open studio. Too much other stuff to do.
